TAIWAN TRIP!

yay i shall post about my taiwan trip since i am quite bored and have nothing much to do (:
will post pics on another post another day!

FUN TRIP plus I SAW 5566! :D

i shall bold all the places i went too for clearer reading purposes (: i am a thoughtful blogger!

first day (wednesday 22ndnov)

first day was spent in the plane (haha)... reach there in the evening at about 5plus. but it was so dark already. the coming of winter i guess. i reached at tao yuan airport and to get to the hotel in taipei, need about 1hour. but that day heavy rain, in the end got squeezed inside the taxi for 2hours. ): time wasted in the cramped taxi... haiiii.

finally reach grand hyatt jun yue hotel and it was already about 7.30, checked in blahblahblah and then we went for dinner opposite the hotel!

the taipei 101. 101 levels. the bottom 5 levels are shopping centres and there is a foodcourt in the basement. BUT BUT BUT, it isnt the normal foodcourt we see in singapore! the food there is SO nice! (: REALLY... and they have unique food that singapore doesnt have! actually any food in taiwan is nice... really ANY. yay i love taiwan food! so we bought this round ball-like thing that has sotong inside (the one singapore has but that one's a lot nicer) and some noodle thing. it has noodle paste and it was so hot, as in chilli hot. so hot we started buying drinks. also we bought this wanton noodle thing that has 'tian bu la' as a side dish. heard it's some taiwan famous dish? yup it's really nice. then we walked around and fiona and i each bought a pair of shoes from playboy (: first day and there's already shopping! it's quite nice..

then we walked back to the hotel. THE TV THERE IS NICE TOO. watch some HBO movie and some taiwan variety show. SLEEPTIME!

second day (thursday 23rdnov)

woke up quite late... then we took taxi to yong he dou jiang da wang for breakfast! that was nice too. the dou jiang was quite rich and not bland, and they have SO many different types of you tiao. so we tried a few. i was SO full. so was everyone else.

and then after that we went to the train station (taipei huo che zhan) to buy the train ticket to go to hua lian (they spell it hualien though). we are going there on saturday! heard the scenery there's nice. done with the tickets, we took taxi to SOGO departmental store! this sogo's weird, it's like, the WHOLE mall is sogo itself. nothing else. yup went there and i bought 3 blouses! i like the one with the ribbon (: and we had lunch there too! nice food again and i had haagen dazs for dessert! some new flavour ive never heard of. haha.

after walking so much, we went back to the hotel to wait for my daddy to arrive from beijing.. was quite long so we went to 101 to walkwalk again.. ended up eating AGAIN. gain so much weight la. ): after eating, we went back to hotel and my dad was there! at night went to the restaurant downstairs to eat. NICE FOOOOOD! it's called pearl liang or piao liang. you should try if you stay at that hotel. and then we went to miramar to take the world's second highest ferris wheel at night. only my aunt, fiona and i. my mum and dad didnt want. OH WELL. so we took damn lots of pics in the ferris wheel. hahaha. fiona and i were practically running around inside the ferris wheel cabin-like thingum to take pics. haha.

and now, we're on our way to shihlin ye shi! wheee! shihlin was nice but it was SOOOO crowded! oh and taiwan dogs are SOOOO cute! there was this pet shop and the dogs there are so cute! i shall post the pictures soon. from here i can conclude that taiwan dogs and guai-er and cuter than singapore's, with the exception of lucky (: lucky's cute. okay and there were stalls in the middle of the shops. and we were about to buy these two belts and then person was like, (in chinese) hurry up, okay okay i sell it to you cheaper, the police are coming, we have to run! OOOO i didnt know it was illegal. so anyway we bought two belts, one for me and one for fiona. walked for a while, but it was too crowded and squeezy, so we went out of the crowd to the food section. bought some REALLY nice fruits. dunno why all were so sweet, but they were really ex too! and a plate of xinzhu mifen and chou toufu! first time trying chou toufu. it's NICE. but my mum doesnt like. haha. after that went back hotel watch tv, sleep.

third day (friday 24th nov)

THIS DAY WAS THE FUNNEST!!!! :D

we went to liu fu cun today! it's this theme park where 5566 always film? hahaha. yupyup (: and it was FUNNN! it was also my first time on a viking ship. quite scary. looks low and harmless. but once you're on it ah, my limbs become jelly. when the ride stopped this couple was like, aiyoh ka neng~ hahaha. went on it with my aunt. fiona didnt want, she waited down there eating ice cream :\ we also went for sultan's adventure. this one's quite boring. and mountain adventure was quite fun. and very wet. had to use hair dryer after that one.. and also on this rollercoaster. haaha. fiona and my headknocked against each other. ouch.
(i realized i am losing my blogging skills. so i am SURE you are very bored. sorry.. ): )
okay continue, then after that we went for lunch at a famous roadside restaurant (forgot the name hee). usually it's really crowded, but we went really late, and the chef was ABOUT to leave for rest. lucky us. :D really really nice. TRUST ME (:

after lunch sat this long journey back to taipei and rested for a while. watched tv, ate, showered, and it was DINNERTIME! made our way to xin ye restaurant. a famous and simple-but-delicious restaurant! as we were eating, suddenly my mum and aunt starting talking about the hospital just opposite the restaurant. forgot the name, but it was where wangrenfu and jiqin's baby was born! LE LE!!! (: and i took a really blur and dark picture of it using my phone. rememberance sake. and then we started imagining what will happen if they were inside the hospital and decided to cross the road for dinner. hhahahah..

WHO KNEW WHAT WAS GOING TO HAPPEN LATER. :

happily eating and chatting... and then foot the bill and went to xi men ding! but my dad went back to the hotel cuz he kinda didnt like shopping with us? tiring? yeah and he'll be the only guy. i mean, shopping for girls' stuff. kinda weird. so he went back first.. and then fiona, mummy, my aunt and i took taxi there! WOOHOO I LOVE XIMENDING! first, ximending has SO MANY STUFF TO BUY! second, THE WEATHER IS COMFORTABLY COOL! third, PEOPLE THERE ARE AROUND OUR AGE, meaning youths. fourth, THINGS THERE ARE NICE! fifth, the place seems comfortable! sixth, WE SAW 5566 FILMING! seventh, IT'S JUST REALLY NICE! go there and you'll know what i am saying :D oh and xijieshaonian was filmed there! yay.

so we were walking as per normal.... stopping to buy earrings and small stuffs that are cute and taiwan-ly nice. earrings.... many many clips.... nice special hairtie.... until it was quite very late... we were talking about how we might see 5566 filming. and we were only saying it jokingly... THEN. my mum was like, let's go back already. it's quite late, and it has been a tiring day. SOOO.. we were on our way back to the taxi stand. WHEN. we saw this crowd. and i saw overhanging microphones that look like they were from shaoniantegongdui! and then we went to see what was happening. LUCKILY WE DID OKAY! and fiona went to peep. this is how our conversation went:

fiona: AH WANGSHAOWEI EH!
joellyn: really?
fiona: no la. see wrongly.
joellyn: haiyah...
fiona: tiptoes* REALLY!!!
joellyn: REALLY!!! JUMPJUMPJUMPJUMP*

HYPERVENTILATION!!!! :DDDDD omg omg omg i cant believe i actually saw them when i FIRST come to xi men ding. ALL OF THEM. SUNXIEZHI! WANGRENFU! WANGSHAOWEI! XUMENGZHE! and bonus of yanxingshu, yuanyuan, and the shanliangsanjiemei. i mean, it's SO coinidental! dun you think so? yes you think so! AHHH! and just now we were justJUSTJUST talking about WANG LE LE! and here, we see LE LE'S FATHER! AHHH. (and esther just told me that on friday wangrenfu couldnt make it to host wanquanyule cuz he was filming shaoniantegongdui in ximending! how how how coincidental! AHHH!!!) i. cant. believe. it. and then we, mostly i, kept taking pictures... and heard that they were waiting for some table to come before they can continue what they have been filming. and when they were waiting, there was this commotion, and people were pushing. AND the pushing force push me until i was RIGHT RIGHT RIGHT RIGHT NEXT TO SUNXIEZHI. like, as next to as i am with xiner in class. AH. omg omg. it's seems so untrue. like... dreamlike. ahhh~ then i kept snapping pics until they got onto the bus. i think it was bout 20minutes? yeah. i think they were playing some guess price game. AHHH I SAW 5566 EH. I SAW 5566 EH! (this isnt a place i visited, but bolding is necessarily very required) ooooo. i will definitely load the pics soon! and post it! WHEE~! i feel faint.

okay so after that, went back to hotel. admired the pictures... watched nicenice tv with ouxiangju like, hua yang shao nian shao nu, jian dao shi tou bu (both currently watching on youtube now) and xing ping guo le yuan (will watch later). and HBO! slept very late. and kept tihnking of that memorable moment (:

fourth day (saturday 25th nov)

hualian day!!!

early in the morning, we went for breakfast downstairs in the hotel, and then went to the train station for a 3hour tain ride to hualian. train ride was quite fun. chatted, slept, listened to ipod, slept, scenery, slept, ipod (:

and finally we're in hua lian! the van from the grand formosa (the hotel we're staying in) will only pick us up at 3.10, so we had 1hour to spend. LUNCH TIME! :D crossed the risky and dangerous road to this roadside beefnoodles stall. that random stall's beef noodles was yumyum! ate until we are SO full before we returned to the train station.

by the time, the van was there already, and then we went towards the grand formosa, which was in taroko, a part of hualian. about an hour ride, but the van had a nice smell and was airconditioned in a just-right temperature. and cuz taroko was on a mountain, so i took tons of pics in through the car window, thus wasnt bored at all. but when i arrived there, i felt like throwing up. the journey was so bumpy, and i just realized i kept turning round and round to take pics. :S we checked in and then went for a walk outside the hotel. fiona and i bought an icecream and licked along the way. took nice pictures on the bridge! after that, we fiona, my aunt and i went for a swim in the indoor swimming pool in the hotel. the water was warm and nice....BUT, when you climb out of the water to your room, the process is UNBEARABLY COLD. cold that i was shivering, couldnt move, tripped over the step, and got a black big toe. REALLY COLD. dun try.

after a nice long warm shower, we went for dinner in the hotel. after that, we went to watch the aboriginal dance performance. then, we went down to the arcade and played this mini-version of bowling, bowlingo? ahahha. the ball is mini-fied and has no holes. the pins and smaller and the lane is shorter and narrower. but everything else, including the system, works like bowling! and after that, we went to the karaoke room. it's so lousy la. they have this album thing with songs inside with codes and you put in some coins and key in the code. and the songs are SO disorganised. in the end, only could find a few songs. and the MIC IS SO LOUSY and the mv, if they dun have they just put in random clips that are repeated in a few songs. haii... kbox muchmuch better. (: yay singapore!

after a longlong day, we went back, USUAL ROUTINE watch tv, more tv, chatchatchat, TVTVTV! sleeeep zzz.

fifth day (sunday 26th nov)

second day in taroko! morning.. went for breakfast in the hotel and then walked around the hotel aimlessly, before going back to the room to watch NICE NICE HBO MOVIES! we book a 'tour' that's only one hour to the nearby 'jiu qu dong' at 2pm. it's this trail that you're supposed to walk. oh and before the movies, we went to walk outside the hotel and we walked up this upslope trail into a nice and cool garden. and further up was a church. and the person there told us a LONGGGGG story about the church. i shall try to regurgitate whatever i remember (:

the church was occupied by soldiers and yuan zhu min people who stayed in the mountains last time. then as time pass by, more and more people either pass away or move down the mountains into the city and now, only left the pastor's family members living beside the church. and now the church only has 1 or 2 visitors who are tourists joining their service every sunday. but by the time we reach there, their service has ended already. so we took pictures and went back down. before going back down they told us they were going down the mountains as well and opening a church in xinzhu. we shall go visit the next time we go there! (:

lunch time! we didnt like the hotel food, so we went to this small stall opposite the hotel. the stall looks kind of 'dilapidated' with lots of stray dogs, and one of them had this 'zhong liu' on the stomach. poor thing. ): but then it was very crowded with people! cuzzzz... the food's really yummy! tofu's nice. mifen's REALLY nice. everrything's nice!!! love the food there! (in the end we ate dinner there too). after nice lunch, we went back to the hotel!

after more tv, we went to the lobby and the bus to send us the jiu qu dong was waiting there! went in and off we go.. (: the place's scenery's really nice. took lots of pictures. both of scenery and of us! taroko's quite nice, but it's SO far away from the city... doesnt feel very taiwan-ish. but it's fun anyhow. a contrast to the busy city lifestyle (:

yup and after that, we went back to the hotel, shower, watch tv, and went for DINNERRR! dinner was nicenice too. and then we went back to the hotel to take some picture for keychains! it's free. vouchers given if you stay in the hotel. after taking them, we were supposed to collect them at about 9plus at night, so fiona and i went to use the computers in the lobby. 10minutes for 10dollars. used for 1hour 10minutes (: made full use of the waiting time! and then we went to collect the keychains, but complications occured and we were supposed to collect them early in the moring at about 8.30am. after collecting only my keychain that didnt have no complications, we went back to our room for tv, tv, tv sleep.

sixth day (monday 27th nov)

BACK TO TAIPEI!

woke up real early. at about 7.30. packpackpack and then took this bus from the hotel to the train station. at first the person said it will be only about 40minutes. but at this particular spot, it didnt move for about 20minutes. and then this other family was very worried, cuz in the end, they ALMOST missed their train. they were practically runnin' when they got down the bus. and we, went for lunch before boarding the train (: you know, in singapore, meals dun sound so nice, but in taiwan it's different! the food there is simply scrumptious! (is it how you spell it?) we went to the same beef noodles stall and rushed back to the train station.

in the train this time it was more of sleep than anything. number1, ipod ran out of battery halfway. number2, this time's scenery somehow wasnt very appealing. number3, i was tired and sleepy. didnt sleep much the last night. TV's fault. oh and halfway through the ride, we passed by the train station nuan nuan. it's where liangjingru shot her mv for her song, nuan nuan. wanted to take picture of the station, but by the time i took out the camera, the train zoomed past it already ): oh well. nevermind. taiwan seems familiar yet not familiar. haha. like liu fu cun, hadnt been there, but know most of the rides inside. (:

finally in taipei already! and the weather has also became a lot colder! brr. heard from the taxi driver that it was raining the whole day. luckily we were in hualian.. went back to the hotel and checked in again. this time they prepared us the dunno what deluxe room. new interior-designed? seems the same to me. :\ nevermind... but the tv's all the same! watched tv, and then at night we went to ximending YAY YAY YAY to eat and shop! went to this rather ulu-ed restaurant, but the food's nonetheless YUMMAYE. taiwan shi zhong shi taiwan! and that night it was really windy and cold. after dinner, we went shopping! bought many things. bought this shirt, lots of hp decor lil things, a puffy black puch with two huge eyes (the aiqinmofashi's xiao jing ling!), earrings!, a nice small comb+mirror and an album! erm.. luaozhixiang's speshow. haha. after that, took taxi home. I STILL LOVELOVE XIMENDING, though we didnt see anyone that day. ): packpack tvtv sleepsleep. and my mum fell sick because it was real windy and cold. but she was wearing the most clothes. sigh... flu and cough and sorethroat. haii...

seventh day (tuesday 28th nov)

woke up. found out mummy was sick. ): went down for breakfast and then my mum and dad went back to the room, so that my mum could rest... then we also went back for tv. hbo. i remember we were watchingthis detective/kidnap/ richgirl/marriage/saved movie. really nice and it's happy ending too (: after that, when the rain became a lil smaller, we went to taipei 101, so we can use the bridge to walk to new york new york, another shopping mall! so we went there and ended up each buying a jacket. then we walked BACK to 101 for lunch and change more money to tai bi. then BACK to new york new york. after walking a lot, we crossed the road to hua na wei xiu this building with cinema and shops so that we can cross to xin guang, this other shopping mall. walked a lot, but ended up buying nothin'. so then we walked back to hua na, and then my aunt saw this tiny shop with a sign that says up to 50% discount clearance sale (in chinese of course), so we went in. and the things there are quite nice! fiona and i each bought this nice jacket. it's actually branded and they got only one of each size. i took s and fiona took m. they sold it like 1000dollars cheaper than outside. well, that's what they said. but it's really nice and cheaper than outside, but not say very cheap. and we each bought a long-sleeve shirt too! nicenice! <3>eighth day (wednesday 29th nov)

SINGAPORE MY HOME SWEET HOME!

in the morning, we woke up and had breakfast in the hotel. oh yeah before i forgot, this hotel's breakfast's really nice and feng fu! buffet. veryveryvery nice. (: and then brought some bread up for mummy to eat. and then pack somemore, before going to the airport. my dad left first cuz his flight bak to beijing was 1hour earlier. in the taxi i was sleeping throughout cuz slept REALLY late again. and this time back to airport's really fast. like, less than 40mintues? yeah. got off the taxi and into airport..

THE AIRPORT LOOKS SO FAMILIAR! must be those shows, like mvp, jiandaoshitoubu etc. they always having leaving scences in the airport. :D had mini-lunch. i shared subway with fiona, mummy had bacon sandwich and my aunt didnt wanna eat. and then we walked around and went into this shop with nice soft toy keychains. actually hk, singapore whereever also have that bradn, but since we have a lot of tai bi left, we might as well finish using em. so bought two for each person (:

THIS TAIWAN TRIP IS SO FRUITFUL! :DDDDD

and board the aeroplane... watch step up, rewatched scoop. and SLEPT.

5hours later........

SINGAPORE, WE'RE HOME!
